This privacy policy explains how clipboard2.com (operated by insoso GmbH, the “we”) processes personal data when you use this website. We take the protection of your personal data seriously and process it in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG).

What the service does

Our online clipboard lets you transfer text and files between devices by opening a shared board. You do not need to create an account. Boards and uploaded files are short-lived by design: text is cleared automatically after a timeout and uploaded files are deleted automatically a short time after upload. We do not use this content for any purpose other than providing the service.

Data we process

Clipboard content and files that you enter or upload. This content is stored only temporarily (in memory and, for files, on disk) and is deleted automatically as described above. Anyone who knows the board name can access its content, so do not share sensitive personal data via public board names.
Server log data and IP address. When you access the site, our server and reverse proxy process technical data such as your IP address, date and time, requested URL and user agent. For file uploads we additionally store the uploading IP address together with the file metadata for the lifetime of the file, in order to prevent abuse and to be able to respond to legal requests. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the secure and abuse-free operation of the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies and consent

We only set cookies and load advertising and analytics services after you have given consent through the consent banner. Until you consent, Google Consent Mode keeps advertising and analytics storage disabled. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time via the privacy settings dialog of our consent management provider.

Google AdSense (advertising)

This website uses Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, to display advertisements. Subject to your consent, Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads and, where you consent, to personalise them based on your usage. This may involve the processing of your IP address and ad identifiers. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Google Analytics

Subject to your consent, this website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google processes usage data on our behalf; IP addresses are processed in truncated/anonymised form where supported. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Data transfers outside the EU

Google may process data in countries outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Retention

Clipboard text and uploaded files (including the associated upload IP) are deleted automatically after their short lifetime. Server log data is retained only as long as necessary for security purposes and then deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing.
